چکیده

Objective: In addition to assessing the phenotypic development of biofilms and beta-lactamases, in current study, Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates from intensive care units (ICU) patients with prevalent drug resistance are being evaluated. Methods: Standard CLSI recommended protocols were utilized detect beta-lactamases such as extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBL), metallo beta-lactamase (MBL), AmpC, a standard tissue culture plate method was used study. Results: 51 (36% 142) Most P. multidrug (MDR) phenotypes discovered endotracheal aspirates, followed by BAL fluid, pus, blood, least number found urine samples. Of 142 aeruginosa, 132 (93%) produced biofilms, while remaining 10 (7%) did not. Our study reported that MDR isolates, 14 (27%) ESBLs, 9 (18%) MBLs, 5 (10%) AmpCs. phenotypes, 48 (94%) biofilm, 3 (6%) There clinical which came female patients, 37 (73%) male patients. Imipenem (10.4%) meropenem (12.5%) showed lowest rates resistance, whereas gentamicin (60.4%) amikacin (66.6%) had greatest rates. no colistin or polymyxin B. Conclusion: For best antibiotic choice management acute disease ICU all bacterial should undergo routine profiling biofilm formation.

Association Between Metallo-β-lactamases and Integrons with Multi-Drug Resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is among the most important pathogens in the nosocomial infections. A genetic mobile element, the integron, is one of the major agents involved in dissemination of multi-drug resistance among gram negative bacteria. During a descriptive study from October 2009 to August 2010, some 130 P. aeruginosa clinical isolates were collected from different wards of three hospitals...

Effective Antibiotics in Combination against Extreme Drug-Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa with Decreased Susceptibility to Polymyxin B

OBJECTIVE Extreme drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (XDR-PA) with decreased susceptibility to polymyxin B (PB) has emerged in Singapore, causing infections in immunocompromised hosts. Combination therapy may be the only viable therapeutic option until new antibiotics become available. The objective of this study is to assess the in vitro activity of various antibiotics against local XDR-PA ...

Incidence of metallo beta lactamase producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa in ICU patients.

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE Metallo beta lactamase (MBL) producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa have been reported to be important cause of nosocomial infections. The appearance of MBL genes and their spread among bacterial pathogens is a matter of concern with regard to the future of antimicrobial therapy. The present study was undertaken to determine the incidence of MBL producing P. aeruginosa in patie...

Detection of SHV type Extended-Spectrum B-lactamase and Risk Factors in Pseudomonas aeruginosa Clinical Isolates

OBJECTIVE Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the most important causes of nosocomial infections and can acquire resistant to many antimicrobials, including β-lactams. The aim of this study was to detect the prevalence of SHV type extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL), antimicrobial resistance patterns of the P. aeroginusa and risk factors in hospitalized patients in two teaching hospitals in Sa...
